...Mississippi River and Illinois River Ice Statement...

                Ice cover conditions as of 02/05/13
Mississippi River
Ice depths varied from about 5 to 12 inches at the pools of 
Dams 1 through 13...with the thickest report coming from Dam 5.
Then...south of Dam 13...variable coverages of 1 to 3 inch ice
existed down to about Dam 22.

Illinois River System (Chicago/Illinois R)
 There was a generally light coverage of ice in the north.

Outlook for next 7 days:
Overall...this looks to be a mild week coming up with highs on
average ranging from about 30 in Minneapolis to about 50 down
south in St Louis. Low temperatures are forecast to be mostly
in the teens in the north to around 30 south. Based on this...
some minor ice activity may occur...but in general conditions
are not expected to change significantly.

The next Ice Statement will be released on Tuesday..Feb 12 2013.
