...Mississippi River and Illinois River Ice Statement...

                Ice cover conditions as of 02/26/13
Mississippi River
  Ice depths varied from about 3 to 13 inches at the locations
that reported between the pools of Dams 1 through 13...with the
thickest report coming from Dam 11. Lake Pepin ice measurements
taken back on February 13 averaged 19 to 20 inches.
  For the locations below Dam 13...variable amounts of 1 to 4
inches have been reported as far south as Dam 24 in Missouri.
Illinois River System (Chicago/Illinois R)
  There was a generally light coverage of ice in the far north...
with no ice indicated elsewhere.

Outlook for next 7 days:
High temperatures for the next several days are expected to run
in the 30s....with lows generally in the 20s..but occasionally
dipping into the teens in the north. Based on this...we do not
expect to see any significant ice development or changes over
the next week or more.

The next Ice Statement will be released on Tuesday..Mar 5 2013.
