...Mississippi River and Illinois River Ice Statement...

                Ice cover conditions as of 03/25/14
Mississippi River
The upper portion of the Mississippi still has ice from around
Dam 1 down through Dam 13 (Camanche Iowa). Amounts varied from
about 5 to 10 inches...but are probably much higher at Lake Pepin
where the St Paul Corps plans to take new measurements tomorrow...
March 26.

Illinois River System (Chicago/Illinois R)
At this time...only the far northern reach of The Illinois
Waterway has ice...the rest is ice-free for the most part.

Outlook for next 7 days:
While we are still below normal temperature-wise today...a 
significant warmup is predicted by this weekend. We should see a 
diminishment and breakup of ice over the next 7 days...especially
this coming Saturday through next Monday.

The next Ice Statement will be released on Tuesday..Apr 1 2014.
