During the past 24 hours the heaviest band of rain fell in the northern portion of lower Michigan and eastern portion of the Michigan UP where rainfall totals were generally around a half inch. Rainfall totals between a third of an inch or less were reported in eastern Missouri...Illinois...and southeastern Wisconsin. A tenth of an inch or less was observed in portions of northern North Dakota...the Minnesota Arrowhead region and western portion of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. During the next 24 hours...rainfall totals of up to a quarter inch are forecast for southeaster Missouri...central Illinois...southern lower Michigan and northern Indiana. ...Hydrologic Conditions... Heavy rains fell over the NCRFC area late last week and over the weekend. As a result there is minor flooding occurring in eastern Iowa...eastern Missouri and the Illinois River basin. Moderate flooding is forecast or occurring at: - Iowa River at Marengo Iowa - Wapsipinicon River at Dewitt Iowa More precipitation is expected Thursday through Saturday as a new low moves through the NCRFC region on Thursday and Friday. We are watching this system closely as the southern part of our area is wet from recent rains... as is the southern Red River Basin in eastern North Dakota and northwestern Minnesota.
