A low pressure system moved into the North Central River Forecast Center's coverage area in the past 24 hours creating widespread heavy precipitation. In the past 24 hours the system has produced greater than two inches of rain in many parts of Iowa... western Missouri... eastern Illinois... and southwestern Michigan. Heaviest amounts of rainfall occurred in the vacinity of St. Louis... Missouri where amounts of greater than four inches were reported. Over the next 24 hours... the low pressure system continues to move across the North Central River Forecast Center's coverage area producing more widespread precipitation. Many parts of Michigan and southern Illinois are expected to receive greater than one inch of rainfall.
