HYDROMETEOROLOGICAL FORECAST DISCUSSION
NWS NORTH CENTRAL RIVER FORECAST CENTER TWIN CITIES/CHANHASSEN MN

...Precipitation...

A low pressure system moved into the North Central River Forecast
Center's coverage area in the past 24 hours creating widespread 
heavy precipitation.  In the past 24 hours the system has 
produced greater than two inches of rain in many parts of Iowa... 
western Missouri... eastern Illinois... and southwestern 
Michigan.  Heaviest amounts of rainfall occurred in the vacinity
of St. Louis... Missouri where amounts of greater than four
inches were reported.

Over the next 24 hours... the low pressure system continues to
move across the North Central River Forecast Center's coverage
area producing more widespread precipitation.  Many parts of 
Michigan and southern Illinois are expected to receive greater 
than one inch of rainfall.  In addition... much of northern
Minnesota and eastern North Dakota is expected to receive up
to another three quarters of an inch of rainfall as well.

Flooding is occurring along the Red River of the North in the
Fargo area.  It skips over central and southern Minnesota to
central and eastern Iowa over southern Wisconsin ... easthern
Missouri ... most of Illinois and southern Michigan.

Modernate levels and above are expected at many locations.
