...ABERDEEN RADAR BACK IN SERVICE IN TEST MODE...

THE ABERDEEN /KABR/ DOPPLER RADAR IS CURRENTLY BACK IN SERVICE.
HOWEVER...THE RADAR REMAINS IN A TEST AND EVALUATION MODE.
THUS...THE RADAR COULD GO OFF-LINE WITHOUT ADVANCED NOTICE.

DURING ANY OUTAGE...THE FOLLOWING SURROUNDING RADARS WILL BE
AVAILABLE...SIOUX FALLS /KFSD/...RAPID CITY /KUDX/...BISMARCK
/KBIS/...GRAND FORKS /KMVX/...MINNEAPOLIS /KMPX/...AND NORTH PLATTE /KLNX/.

DUAL-POL IS THE LARGEST RADAR HARDWARE UPGRADE SINCE ITS
DEPLOYMENT IN THE MID 1990S. DUAL POLARIZATION WILL PROVIDE NEW
TOOLS AND INFORMATION TO METEOROLOGISTS WHICH WILL ENHANCE
DECISION MAKING DURING SEVERE WEATHER.
