June 2010 Recap

 Much Needed Rain

After an abnormally dry spring, a return to a somewhat more active and typical early summer weather pattern brought some much needed rain to the moisture starved North Woods, with all locations experiencing one of their top 20 wettest June's on record.  Despite the more active weather, in a month that is typically one of the most active for severe thunderstorms, few episodes of severe weather were reported, with most of the severe storms remaining across Southern Michigan.

The combination of increased cloud cover/rainfall and no prolonged heat waves kept temperatures around normal for the month.
