Severe Weather recap Tuesday afternoon and evening

With a very warm and humid airmass across the region on Monday, strong to severe thunderstorms developed along a cold front sweeping through the region. Storms began to develop around Some of these storms were able to tap very strong winds aloft and produce damaging winds/downed trees over portions of Northern Lower Michigan. Most notable damage occurred from around the Grand Traverse Bay region...up through Antrim, Otsego and Presque Isle counties.

Thunderstorms began to develop across Northwest Lower Michigan around 5 pm, then swept eastward through the region through around 10 pm. Here is a link to the local storm report summary issued by the Gaylord NWS.
