Fire danger across all of northern Michigan will be elevated once again this afternoon, due mainly to:

  • Temperatures ranging through the 70s
  • Very low humidity levels in the 20-30% range

Those enjoying the outdoors on this beautiful day are strongly urged to take the proper precautions with campfires and other open flames or fireworks, and remember to properly dispose of used smoking materials.

Due to recent dry and warm weather, burn permits are not being issued across much of northern Michigan. For the latest on your county, please see the Michigan DNR Burn Permit Page.
