One Record Low Temperature Broke This Morning

Alpena broke their record low temperature this morning, with a temperature of 17 degrees! This broke the record of 19 degrees set in 1981. Sault Ste. Marie, Gaylord and Pellston all came within 1 degree of tying their record low temperatures.

Just for reference, average lows this time of year are in the lower to middle 30s across all of the area. Thankfully, the cold weather won't last, as southerly winds return Sunday into Monday, helping push readings back into the 40s to wrap up the weekend, and finally into the 50s to maybe near 60 by Monday.
