Just How Unusual Were the Chilly Temps on Friday?

June is what we would normally call a "summer" month - but that's not how things have started out this year.  Friday, June 1st, will go down as one of the chillier June days on record at many locales in Northern Lower Michigan.  Eastern Upper lucked out by comparison, seeing a bit of warmer air nose in during the afternoon.  The Sault got up to 60 degrees - not terribly short of the normal high of 67.  Meanwhile, Traverse City got up to 54 degrees; while plenty cool, that's not in the top-20 coolest of all time.

Other climate sites in Northern Lower were not nearly as lucky:
