Schedule of Winter Weather Talks

The days are getting shorter, the leaves are showing lots of color, and temperatures are on their way down. That can only mean one thing. Like it or not, winter is on its way to the Great Lakes.

That means it's also time for our annual winter weather spotter talks across northern Michigan.  As with all our training, talks are free of charge, and we will cover such topics as winter weather science, historic winter storms, how to report snow amounts to us, and what we expect for the coming winter season.

Below is a look at our current spotter session schedule. We hope you will be able to join us!  If you have questions about an upcoming event, contact NWS Gaylord Warning Coordination Meteorologist Jim Keysor.
