Storm System Exiting Region

On the back side of this exiting winter storm, lingering light snow will continue to fall over mainly Wisconsin, along and northeast of Interstate 94.  Additional snow accumulations should be minor but northwest winds will be on the increase.  Wind gusts were already between 30 and 40 mph over parts of northeast Iowa and southeast Minnesota.

North Central Wisconsin 

  • Winter Storm Warning for parts of north central Wisconsin
  • Overnight Ice accumulation was 1/8" to 1/4" 
  • 3 to 5" of total snow accumulation  - highest north of Highway 29
  • Travel will be impacted much of the day

Western Wisconsin

  • Winter Weather Advisory in effect for a few more hours
  • 1 to 4" of total snow accumulation 
  • Windy conditions - gusts 25 to 35 mph
  • Combination of ice and heavy wet snow sticking to power lines, along with increasing winds, could cause sporadic power outages
  • Travel in general could be impacted, but most main roads will be just wet
