Another Cold Meteorological Spring

For the second consecutive and 3 of the last 4 meteorological springs, temperatures averaged below normal across the Upper Mississippi River Valley.  From March 1st through May 31st, temperatures were 3 to 6 degrees below normal.  The warmest day was 91 degrees at Boscobel, WI on May 31st.  The coldest was -33 degrees near Owen, WI on the morning of March 3rd.

Precipitation ranged from near normal to 3 inches above normal.  Totals ranged from 7.72 inches at Lanesboro, MN to 13.43 inches at Richland Center, WI.

...Another Colder and Wetter-than-Normal Spring at La Crosse WI...

During the spring of 2014, temperatures averaged below-normal and precipitation was above-normal at La Crosse Regional Airport.  This was the second consecutive spring that this has occurred. More details on these statistics can be found below.

Temperatures -

From March 1st through May 31st...La Crosse Regional Airport had an average temperature of 44.3 degrees.  This was 3.3 degrees below the 1981-2010 normal of 47.6 degrees.  The table below contains the monthly temperatures and their departures from normal for the spring of 2014.
