The Mississippi River stage at La Crosse on July 1st reached 13.48 feet - 1.48 feet above flood stage. This is a rare event as the last time the Mississippi was above flood stage at La Crosse on July 1st was back in 1993 when 13.7 feet was recorded. That year, the river crested at 14.10 feet on June 26th.
