June 2008 Climate Summary (Updated to Add New Image)

During June of 2008, temperatures were generally below normal and precipitation was above normal across the western Wisconsin, northeast Iowa, and southeast Minnesota.

Temperatures...

During June of 2008, temperatures averaged below normal across southeast Minnesota, northeast Iowa, western Wisconsin.  The largest departures were across north central Iowa, southeast Minnesota, and western Wisconsin.  These areas saw temperatures average between 1 and 1.5 degrees below normal.  Meanwhile eastern Wisconsin saw temperatures range from normal to one degree above normal.  The image below is from the Midwestern Regional Climate Center (MRCC) and it shows the June 2008 average temperature departures across the Upper Mississippi River Valley.

Precipitation...

During June of 2008, precipitation was above normal across the entire Upper Mississippi River Valley.  The largest departures were found across the southern third of Wisconsin and much of Iowa where rainfall departures were in the excess of 7 inches in some areas.  Dorchester, Iowa; Lancaster, Wisconsin; and St. Ansgar, Iowa had their wettest June and wettest month.  Meanwhile seven other locations had their June 2008 wettest June.  More details can be found in the table below.
