Volcanic ash and aerosols in the stratosphere, most likely from eruption of Kasatochi Volcano in the Aleutian Islands on August 7th, have produced some beautiful sunrises and sunsets across North America and Europe during the last two weeks Some of this ash and aerosols were seen across western Wisconsin, southeast Minnesota, and northeast Iowa on Saturday night, August 30th and the next morning. Other brilliant sunrises and sunsets are likely through the remainder of the Labor Day weekend.
The pictures below were taken in West Salem, Wisconsin on Saturday evening.
