DURING METEOROLOGICAL WINTER /DECEMBER 1 THROUGH FEBRUARY
28...ROCHESTER INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT AVERAGED BELOW NORMAL FOR
TEMPERATURES...SLIGHTLY ABOVE NORMAL FOR PRECIPITATION...AND MUCH
ABOVE NORMAL SNOWFALL.  THE INFORMATION BELOW PROVIDES MORE DETAILS
ON THESE STATISTICS.

TEMPERATURES...COLDEST WINTER SINCE 2000-01

FROM DECEMBER 1ST THROUGH FEBRUARY 28TH...ROCHESTER INTERNATIONAL
AIRPORT HAD AN AVERAGE TEMPERATURE OF 13.7 DEGREES.  THIS WAS 2.1
DEGREES BELOW THE 1971-2000 NORMAL OF 15.8 DEGREES.  THIS WINTER WAS
THE 24TH COLDEST WINTER AND THE COLDEST SINCE 2000-01 WHEN THE
AVERAGE TEMPERATURE WAS 11.6 DEGREES.  TEMPERATURE RECORDS DATE BACK
TO THE WINTER OF 1887-88.  THE COLDEST WINTER OCCURRED BACK DURING
THE WINTER OF 1978-79 WHEN THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE WAS 5.6 DEGREES.
