A few funnel clouds were seen and reported over parts of western and central Wisconsin during the afternoon of July 4, 2009. Atmospheric conditions were briefly favorable for the formation of funnel clouds associated with relatively weak showers and thunderstorms.

Here is a Doppler radar image of a weak rain shower that produced a funnel cloud report at 5:04 p.m. CDT July 4th just west of Big Flats, WI (Adams County). Click on image to enlarge (higher resolution).
