The National Weather Service is aware of a problem where a forecast may be returned for a different location which is many miles from the location wanted when using the point and click forecast map. This occurs with the Internet Explorer version 8.0 web browser when the “Adaptive Zoom” feature is not set to 100%. When the “Adaptive Zoom” is set to other than 100% incorrect map coordinate information can result in returned forecasts which are many miles away from the map location clicked by the user.
The work around for this issue is to ensure that the Internet Explorer 8.0 Adaptive Zoom feature is set to 100% prior to clicking on a forecast point in the point and click application. This setting can be found on the lower right corner of the web browser display.
