First 80 degree dew point in Rochester MN and La Crosse WI in about a decade

During the afternoon and evening of July 14th, the dew points across southeast Minnesota, northeast Iowa, and southern Wisconsin climbed to around 80 degrees.  This is exceptionally high for this area of the country.  In many locations, these were the highest dew points in about a decade.  Dew point is a much better measure of the amount of moisture in the air than relative humidity.  The higher the dew point, the more moisture that is contained in an air mass (water in the gas form), and the more humid and uncomfortable the air mass feels.
