Snow Melt From Sunday's Warm Temperatures

High temperatures in the 40s to 50s on Sunday quickly eroded the 1-4 inch snow pack that fell on Friday night.  This time lapse shows the visible satellite images on Sunday from 8am through 3pm when there was enough sunlight available to view the earth.  The denser white area in the images that extends from south central Minnesota through southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois is the snow that fell on Friday.  Some thin high level cirrus clouds can also be seen through the time lapse.  Note that by the end of the time lapse that almost all of the snow has melted outside of a small area in southwest Wisconsin where the heaviest snow fell Friday night.
