Severe Weather Awareness week in Minnesota and Wisconsin is this week. Iowa had their awareness week and tornado drill two weeks ago.
A tornado drill was conducted in both Wisconsin and Minnesota today, and a second evening drill will be held in most Minnesota communities this evening at 6:55 p.m.
In cooperation with state emergency management agencies, the National Weather Service (NWS) uses this week to remind people about the dangers of severe weather, including thunderstorms, flash flooding, and tornadoes. It is important you know what to do when severe weather strikes. The La Crosse National Weather Service has a severe weather preparedness page with links and useful reference material.
