A large area of moderate to heavy rain set up across parts of the region yesterday, as an area of low pressure moved across Iowa into southern Wisconsin. Rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches were common, with a swath of 2 to 3 inches reported across parts of extreme northeast Iowa and southeast Minnesota to west central Wisconsin (from near Charles City, Iowa to Hillsboro, Wisconsin). There was a changeover to wet snow late in the evening across northern areas, but measurable amounts were confined to northern and northeast Wisconsin.
