October 25th Temperature Drop at NWS La Crosse

A strong cold front moved through the Upper Mississippi River Valley October 25th, which led to a rapid fall in temperatures.  Below is a plot of 5 minute interval temperatures from the NWS La Crosse's unofficial weather station.  This station shows a quick drop in the morning after the cold front moved through, with temperatures going from 63.5 F at 6:50 am to 52.4 F at 7:20 am.  Temperatures stabilized around 51 F by 7:40 am.  A second cold surge came in late that morning with temperatures taking a more gradual dip from 51.4 F at 10:20 am to 37.9 F by 3:05 pm.
