While temperatures are above freezing, law enforcement continue to report that the untreated and dirt roads remain slippery this morning. This is a result of the cold ground, melting snow, and the rain that fell on Thursday evening.
For the entire region, a dense fog advisory is in effect through noon today. This fog will reduce visibilities to a quarter mile or less in some areas. This fog will make travel hazardous.
After a mild week and the recent rain, the snow pack will experience dramatic losses. Runoff into rivers and streams could result in minor rises, but should remain well within banks.
A return to more normal January temperatures will occur Saturday as a strong cold front drives across the region. Highs Saturday will occur early with falling temperatures the rest of the day. Note any standing water on untreated surfaces will turn to ice during the day Saturday.
