Look for a return to more normal winter conditions as a strong cold front moves through the Upper Mississippi River Valley region this morning. Brisk westerly winds gusting between 30 to 40 mph will help usher in the colder air. Temperatures that were up in the 40s at midnight will plummet into the upper teens to upper 20s by Noon, coldest west of the Mississippi River.
With all of the moisture on the ground and temperatures expected to plummet below freezing, the potential exists for black ice. Use caution if traveling this morning.
