.WINDS HAVE SLOWLY BEEN DECREASING THIS EVENING...LESSENING THE AMOUNT OF DRIFTING SNOW. TRAVEL CONDITIONS ARE SLOWLY IMPROVING ACROSS PARTS OF SOUTHEAST MINNESOTA AND NORTHEAST IOWA. SOME DRIFTING WILL STILL BE FOUND IN OPEN AREAS...AND EXPECT RURAL ROADS TO BE COVERED WITH SNOW...ESPECIALLY IF THEY ARE ORIENTED WEST TO EAST. WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO SLOWLY DIMINISH OVERNIGHT TO 10 TO 15 MPH...WHICH WILL ALLOW CONDITIONS TO IMPROVE FURTHER. THEREFORE...THE ADVISORY WILL BE ALLOWED TO EXPIRE AT MIDNIGHT.

A fast moving storm system will move out of the Northern Plains this afternoon and into the Upper Mississippi River Valley this evening. Light snow is expected to overspread the area.
Snowfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected across southeast Minnesota, northeast Iowa, and portions of southwest Wisconsin. Be prepared for snow covered and slippery roads this evening.
