Do You Like Observing Weather?

The National Weather Service in La Crosse, WI is seeking people that have an avid interest in weather and would like to volunteer to become the official observer for their community. We currently have or will have openings at the following locations...

  • Waukon, IA: This station reports rain, snow and temperature at 6 am to 7 am.
  • Readstown, WI: This station reports rain and snow at 7 am.
  • Clermont, IA: This station reports rain and snow at 7 am and occasionally reads a river gauge.
  • Necedah, WI: This station reports rain, snow and temperature at 7 am.

The National Weather Service will provide the equipment and training needed to establish these weather reporting stations. You will need to have a location that meets the standards for an official weather station and have INTERNET access.
