Wind Advisory: Blustery Conditions Today

Strong winds behind a departing low pressure system will buffet much of the region today - northwest at 20 to 30 mph with wind gusts up to 45. A Wind Advisory is in effect through mid afternoon for northeast Iowa, southeast Minnesota and southwest Wisconsin.

In addition to the winds, snow showers or flurries will persist into the afternoon. Accumulations will be minimal. However, the showers will be capable of reducing visibilities to 2 miles or less for brief periods.

If traveling today, be prepared for the strong winds, especially high profile vehicles along north-south running roadways. Be on the look out for icy spots.
