A potent storm system across the Northern High Plains is expected to spark off severe thunderstorms by early evening across western North Dakota, moving east into the overnight. The environment in which these storms develop will allow them to quickly become severe. The threats with these storms will be large damaging hail, damaging winds and a couple of isolated tornadoes. In addition, torrential downpours which may lead to minor flooding are also possible. Monitor the latest weather conditions late this afternoon and evening for possible watches and warnings for this potentially significant event.
Additional Severe weather and heavy rainfall are possible across portions of the area on Satruday as the main upper level system moves across the area.
