Strong northwest winds are forecast across the area on Sunday behind a strong cold front. A High Wind Warning is in effect for Sunday morning through the evening for southwest North Dakota. Winds of 35 to 40 mph with gusts of 55 to 60 mph are possible, with areas of blowing dust. Elsewhere across western and central North Dakota, northwest winds of 30 to 35 mph with gusts to near 50 mph are forecast. Some rain showers may contain wind gusts over 50 mph. Dry and windy conditions across the southwest and far south central will yield elevated fire danger. A Red Flag Warning is in effect for these areas Sunday.
