Fire Dangers Increasing Thursday and Friday

Fire danger is forecast to increase Thursday and into Friday. Southerly winds up to 20 mph and relative humidities of less than 20 percent are forecast Thursday across the west, yielding a Rangeland Fire Danger of High to Very High. However, Very High to Extreme Rangeland Fire Danger values are possible across portions of the west and north central Friday with forecast west northwest winds of 25 to 35 mph and relative humidity values less than 20%. Large amounts of dry fuels exist across the area as a result of plentiful growth from last year. Areas that received the least amount of precipitation from the last storm are of greater concern.
