Flood forecast services for Ludden are being discontinued.

SUBJECT: CANCELLATION OF FORECAST SERVICES FOR THE JAMES RIVER
NEAR LUDDEN IN NORTH DAKOTA.

DUE TO DISCONTINUATION OF THE LUDDEN RIVER GAGE...THE NATIONAL
WEATHER SERVICE WILL NO LONGER BE ABLE TO OFFER RIVER FORECASTS
SPECIFIC TO THE JAMES RIVER NEAR LUDDEN. THIS CHANGE WILL BECOME
EFFECTIVE ON 29 JULY 2011.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE APOLOGIZES FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE
CAUSED BY THE SHORT NOTICE OF SERVICE CANCELLATION. IN THE ABSENCE
OF POINT FORECASTS FOR THE AREA...THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE
WILL WORK WITH THE LOCAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AND LAW ENFORCEMENT
TO SERVE FLOOD WARNING NEEDS WITH AREAL FLOOD ADVISORIES AND
WARNINGS IN A CONTINUATION OF OUR MISSION.
