The warmer than normal temperatures experienced so far this winter season have resulted in ice cover on most lakes and rivers being
significantly less than what would be considered normal for this time of year. Reports of thin ice across west and central North Dakota have been received with actual open water on some rivers and lakes. Anglers and other outdoor enthusiasts who venture onto local waters need to use extra caution as temperatures are forecast to remain above normal for the next week. Ice may be thinner than you think.
