Missouri River Icing Over

...MISSOURI RIVER SOUTH OF BISMARCK AND MANDAN ICING OVER AGAIN...

THE MISSOURI RIVER IN THE BISMARCK AND MANDAN AREA IS ONCE AGAIN
ICING OVER AND CREATING AN UPWARD CLIMB AT THE BISMARCK GAGE OF
ABOUT TWO AND A HALF FEET SINCE MONDAY EVENING. THE EFFECTS OF THIS
ICING OVER ARE MORE NOTICEABLE IN THE FOX ISLAND AREA AND FARTHER
SOUTH.

TEMPERATURES THROUGH FRIDAY FAVOR THE PRODUCTION OF MORE ICE
UPSTREAM...WHICH WILL ONCE AGAIN FLOAT THROUGH THE BISMARCK AND
MANDAN AREA...AND STEADILY CREATE MORE ICE COVER. AS OF WEDNESDAY
AFTERNOON...THERE ARE NO INDICATIONS OF AN ICE JAM BLOCKING THE
CHANNEL. THE ICING OVER IS A NORMAL PROCESS THAT IS LIKELY BEING
SLIGHTLY MAGNIFIED BY CHANGES IN THE RIVER CHANNEL CAUSED BY LAST
SUMMERS FLOODING.

LONG RANGE EXPECTATIONS...FOR NEXT WEEK...ARE FOR NORMAL TO ABOVE
NORMAL TEMPERATURES WHICH SHOULD ONCE AGAIN HELP REMOVE ANY ICE
COVER DEVELOPED THROUGH THIS WEEKEND.
