Live Colorado River Basin Peak Flow Forecast Briefing May 12th

Live Peak Flow Forecast Briefing

The Colorado Basin River Forecast Center (CBRFC) produces peak flow forecasts for the maximum streamflow expected from spring snowmelt in the Colorado River and eastern Great Basins. Interest in these forecasts has increased over the years - particularly in years where flooding risks are heightened. To better meet the needs of our users, the CBRFC will conduct teleconference and internet briefings. The briefing will discuss the information contained in the peak flow forecast as well as present graphics of current basin precipitation, snow, runoff conditions, and peak flow forecasts. There will be time available for questions following the presentation.

The briefing is composed of two parts, a telephone conference call and a web-based presentation. The conference call can be accessed by dialing 1-877-929-0660 a few minutes prior to 10:00am MDT and entering the access code of 1706374. To view the web-based presentation, you will need to sign up prior to the briefing. Click on REGISTER to sign up for the briefing. For those of you who are unable to view the web-based presentation on your computer, you can follow the presentation by clicking web links that will be posted on our site prior to the call.

Following the briefing, the response and viability of doing future briefings will be assessed. If interest exists, future briefings will be scheduled. Please contact kevin.werner@noaa.gov or edward.clark@noaa.gov or 801.524.5130 for any questions or comments on this.
