Weather Service Honors 60 year Volunteer Weather Observer

The National Weather Service presented Mr.  Layton Munson of Sedgwick Colorado the Helmut E. Lundsberg award for 60 years of service as a cooperative observer on Wednesday Sept 19. The ceremony was held at the Sedgwick Lions Club in Sedgwick Colorado.  Mr. Munson is the first person in Colorado to receive this award. In addition, Mr. Munson’s wife Sallie was presented a Special Service Award for her outstanding support of the Cooperative Weather program.
