Does it Really Snow More on Halloween???

Does it seem like it always snows more on Halloween?  We went through the record books to find out if that is indeed the case, and the following stats may surprise.  Snowfall statistics in Denver date back to 1882.  Since that date, we have recorded snow in Denver on 22 of the 131 Halloweens, or just 17%.  Meanwhile, the day immediately preceding Halloween (Oct 30) has seen snow 21% of the time, while the day immediately after Halloween (Nov 1) has seen snow fall on 22% of the days.  We also checked snow depth statistics as seen in the right column below, a recording taken every morning since 1921.  Similar statistics were observed there as well, with less snow on the ground on Halloween versus the surrounding days.
