Arctic Blast Headed for Colorado

Arctic Blast December 2013

We're closely monitoring a blast of arctic air poised to reach Colorado by Tuesday evening.  Here's one forecast model's depiction of temperatures near 5000 feet above sea level (near Denver's elevation) over the next 10 days.  Note, the first outbreak of arctic air originates in Alaska, while a second surge of even colder air from a more polar origin is possible later in the period. Whatever occurs, the coldest air of the season can be expected from Tuesday night through at least next weekend!
