Mild Weather Continues in Central Plains States

Trick or Treaters Will Stay Dry, Relatively Warm

Kansas City, Mo., Thursday, Oct. 30, 2008 – With mild, dry weather conditions forecast into the first week of November, ghosts and goblins are assured of cool, dry weather conditions for Halloween night, according to NOAA’s National Weather Service forecasters.

The four-day convective outlook issued by NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center calls for no severe weather potential in the country at least through Sunday. There is a possibility precipitation could develop in southeastern Nebraska and the eastern half of Kansas today; and Friday in extreme southeast Kansas, southwest Missouri, eastern Oklahoma, western Arkansas and a small portion of northeast Texas. See the four-day convective outlook graphics at http://www.spc.noaa.gov/products/outlook.

Dominant high pressure will keep moisture outside U.S. borders except for rain in west-central California and the extreme northwest and northeast. See the Hydrometeorological Prediction Center daily threats map at http://www.hpc.ncep.noaa.gov/noaa/noaa.pdf.
