Today is Nebraska Winter Weather Awareness Day

WINTER WEATHER AWARENESS DAY

The National Weather Service along with the Nebraska Emergency Management Agency, have declaredNovember 5, 2009 as Winter Weather Awareness Day. 

 Winter is just around the corner. We have already have had a taste of winter weather in Western Nebraska . Cold temperatures, snow, wind, and ice will soon return again to Nebraska.  Dangerous winter weather not only can kill people, but can disrupt transportation and the local economy.  Being prepared can mitigate some of the dangers that winter weather brings with it.
