Area weather history for June 18-24

Jun 18: On this day in 1997 a weak tornado touched down in northeast Cheyenne near
               the intersection of College drive and 4 Mile RoadThe tornado, which
               destroyed a storage shed, was unusual in that it rotated anti-cyclonically
               (clockwise) instead of the usual counter-clockwise direction.   
 
Jun 19: The latest freeze ever recorded in Cheyenne occurred on this day way back
               in 1876 with a low of 32 degrees. 
 
Jun 20: On this day in 2010 a severe thunderstorm produced hail up to 4 inches in
               diameter as well as a small tornado near Chugwater.

               On this day in 2005 a severe thunderstorm produced hail as large as 4 inches in
               diameter south of Broadwater, Nebraska. Large hail also occurred in Sidney,
               Nebraska on this day in 1997 with hail up to 2 ½ inches in diameter reported.
 
               A severe thunderstorm produced wind gusts to 66 mph in Scottsbluff on this
               day in 1989.  
 
Jun 21:.On this day in 1916, Harrison, Nebraska was soaked with an impressive 4.25
               inches of rain.  Scottsbluff received a generous 2.12 inches of rain on this day
               in 1947.
 
Jun 22:  On this day in 1993 a tornado tracked south and southeast of Bridgeport,
                Nebraska, tearing out about 100 yards of fencing and uprooting over 100 pine
                trees.
 
Jun 23:  On this day in 1954 Cheyenne equaled its record warmest day ever with a high
                of 100 degrees. It still remains the most recent of 4 times that Cheyenne has
                officially reached 100 degrees. The other days were July 11, 1939, and July
                14th and 15th in 1881.
 
Jun 24:  On this day in 1992 a thunderstorm produced 2.30 inches of rain in Douglas,Wy.
