Area Weather History for February 5-11.

Feb.   5: On this day in 1989 the high temperature in Cheyenne reached
               2 degrees below zero.  This turned out to be the last of 4
               consecutive days that the temperature in Cheyenne remained below
               zero...which equaled the record for the most consecutive days
               below zero since 1915.

Feb.   6: The lowest temperature ever recorded in Scottsbluff occurred
               on this day in 1899 when the temperature fell all the way to
               46 degrees below zero.

               An unusual cold streak was coming to an end over the region
               back in 1949.  Scottsbluff recorded the last of 23 days in a row
               with high temperatures below freezing, while Cheyenne had its
               last of 15 days below the freezing mark.

Feb.   7: On this day in 1985 Cheyenne had its last of 10 consecutive days
               with a low temperature of zero or colder.

Feb.   8: On this day in 1936 Cheyenne recorded its coldest temperature
               for the month of February with a low of 34 degrees below zero.

               A historic snow began in Scottsbluff on this day in 1894.  By the end
               of the day 16 inches was recorded with snow still falling.

Feb.   9: Another 12 inches of snow fell on Scottsbluff on this day in 1894,
               bringing the storm total to 28 inches..  This still stands as the
               highest single storm snowfall ever recorded in Scottsbluff.

Feb.  10: Another good snowstorm for Scottsbluff on this day in 1993,
                where 8.9 inches of snow blanketed the city.

Feb.  11: It was a warm day across the region on this day in 1962.
                Cheyenne recorded its highest temperature ever in February
                with 71 degrees, while Scottsbluff set its all-time high temperature
                for February with 77 degrees.
