The First Fall Freeze In Southwest Kansas

The first widespread freeze of the fall occurred across a large part of western Kansas overnight and during the morning of Friday October 24, 2008.  This is just about normal for this time of year.  Areas generally east of highway 283 stayed above freezing because clouds persisted for much of the night.
