Brad Hinkle Receives Award From National Weather Service

Brad Hinkle, a cooperative weather observer of Liberal, was presented with a 15 year length of service award on Monday, September 14th, by Jesse Lee, Observing Program Leader for the National Weather Service in Dodge City.  Brad, along with his wife Paula, has recorded temperature, precipitation and snowfall data since 1994.  Paula passed away this summer.  The weather station was started at Liberal in 1892 by Thomas J. Smith.  Brad took the site over from Ralph Miller.
