Friday was a very warm day across southwestern Kansas with highs around 25 degrees above normal. Records were set at a few cooperative sites. New records were set at Liberal with 88 degrees, Ness City 86 and Ulysses 85. Richfield tied their record high of 86. Other high temperatures that were not records included 87 at Ashland, 84 at Elkhart and 83 at both Dodge City and the Garden City Regional Airport. Temperatures are not expected to be quite as warm today (Saturday).
