High Winds Slam Southwest Kansas on December 11, 2010

 A strong cold front pushed through the central High Plains early on Saturday December 11th.  Behind this front winds turned quickly to the northwest and increased slowly through most of the night.    However, the strongest winds came during daylight hours on Saturday, with frequent gusts in excess of 45 mph over western and central Kansas.  Below is a table which includes the peak wind gusts on December 11th from automated weather observing sites across southwest, south-central and central Kansas...
