Snowfall Summary from the March 8, 2011 storm

A winter storm impacted western Kansas from late night, Monday, March 7th through most of the day, Tuesday, March 8th.  A small swath of heavy snow occurred across mainly west-central Kansas where 6 to 12 inches of snow accumulated.  This axis extended from Syracuse to Scott City to Collyer.  The greatest snowfall within this corridor occured over Lane County where 10 to 12 inches of snow fell in and around Dighton and points northeast to Healy.  Elsewhere across southwest Kansas, freezing rain and sleet occurred in the Dodge City area late Monday Night (7th) with the precipitation changing to a wet snow Tuesday morning.  Around a half inch of snow and sleet accumulated in Dodge City, but most of the snow Tuesday melted as it contacted warm surfaces.  Below is a preliminary reports map of the snowfall from this storm system.  A summary Local Storm Report product follows below as well:
