New times for the Ensign NOAA Weather Radio to be Down for Maintenance - Updated May 13th

The antenna and coaxial cable extending from the transmitter to the antenna at the Ensign NOAA Weather Radio site are scheduled for replacement between 14 May and 15 May. The old cable was damaged some time ago, possibly by falling ice, and allows water to leak through the insulation into the cable. When this occurs, power to the antenna is greatly reduced. The reduced power to the antenna results in diminished quality of NOAA Weather Radio broadcasts and reduced range of broadcast reception.

While the cable is being replaced, the Ensign NOAA Weather Radio transmitter will not be operational. NOAA Weather Radio service likely will be interrupted on 14 May and may not be restored until 15 May.
